Darby Skate Park Grand Opening

Darby, Montana has had a little skate park (slab of concrete w/ angled drop in, launch ramp, fun box, and 4 ft. quarter pipe) up and running since last summer. We have ordered a rail and grind box and are planning on having a grand opening on June 2nd. All the elements are plastic/wood, so they won't last. We're hoping to use the grand opening as a launch pad to raise enough money for a concrete bowl or half pipe. Any ideas, help, advice, support you could give us would be great. Also, if anyone wants to come to the grand opening, that would be excellent. If anyone's interested, let me know and I'll keep sending you information.
Thanks,
Bryan Dufresne
Where the heck is Darby, you ask? Right here.

We're so web 2.0

So we've got some upgrades to the ol' news section. Now you can post comments and feedback to each post, view individual blog entries, email blog entries to people, and see who links to each post. In addition, (hold on a sec, let me adjust the tape on my glasses) got a Google or Yahoo Homepage? You can also add Skate Montana news with our RSS feed.

Skate Ignatius

Yep, there's plans, there's T-shirts, there's a site. Check it out. http://www.skateignatius.com/

More info would be welcomed and appreciated. Hit up the forums

Update from the Skate Ignatius Project:
We just signed a contract with Dreamland Skateparks, LLC and they will break ground on Phase I of our project June 1st. With a bit of luck and good weather we may be skating mid August! We still need about 25K to finish fundraising this Phase. Then we start fundraising $233K to complete Phase II.

DREAMLAND

If you head on over to Dreamland Skateparks, Whitefish local Craig Kuzma is right there on the front page grinding over the doorway of the Polson Park.

Update: You'll also notice in park links on the left side, St. Ignatius and Big Timber are both on there - coming soon!
